Pivnica Strednej odbornej školy vinársko-ovocinárskej Modra
The vast majority of the large family of winemakers, who are prominent in this beautiful industry, used to sit in the classrooms of our 131-year-old school and they are proud to say so.
The cellar has undergone extensive renovations and now is equipped with the latest technology - a processing unit, stainless steel tanks with controlled fermentation, winification unit. We are a small wine producer with a total capacity of 35,000 liters, but with very interesting variety of wines: Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Muscat Ottonel, Riesling, Green Veltliner, Muller Thurgau, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Grapes of white varieties are cultivated in our own vineyards, bearing in mind that the quality of wine starts in the vineyard. Therefore, we adapt the agronomy techniques especially to produce white attributive wines. The blue varieties needed for the production of red wines are bought from the Small Carpathian wine region and south of Slovakia.
The quality of our wines is evident in the number of awards and gold and silver medals from the exhibitions at National Wine Salon of the Slovak Republic.
Our philosophy is to provide the consumer a quality wine for a very reasonable price. The wine lovers can find our wines at the wine cellars, wine bars and hotels, or directly in our shop.
We are very proud of our air-conditioned wine archive and wine tasting room with a capacity of 90 people, where we do wine tastings for pre-booked groups (min. 15 people). We offer a range of meals that can be served. We also provide accommodation in the very nicely renovated rooms of our dormitory.
