Štúr’s Bench
Memorial of Ľudovít Štúr (politician, writer, journalist, leader of Slovak revolution in 1848-1849), who often visited this location during his stay in Modra in the years 1851-1855. The original memorial has been destroyed in 1956 and has been replaced by a new one in 1992, alas nowadays it appears to be in a slightly desolated condition. You can visit this place by following the blue trail that leads to Veľká Homoľa. The pleasant walk from the town takes around 30 minutes and is a popular choice for a Sunday walk for many locals.
